RPO (Recovery Point Objective) is the amount of data at risk between data protection events. It reflects the amount of data that could potentially be lost during a disaster recovery. RTO (Recovery Time Objective) is the point in time when all data must be restored to resume processing
- Evaluate and Categorize Data
Determine the various types of data and understand how your organization uses it. Categorize data by type, value, retention schedules, access speeds, frequency of use, etc. Take an inventory of the applications in use to better understand your storage requirements.

Determine the number of Tiers and align data with the appropriate tier and media.
